Strong aspirational vibes to send you into the weekend! #SoundOn This time last week, the Coast to Coast Athletes were embarking on an incredible journey across the South Island's breath-taking landscapes. This event is a true testament to the beauty and spirit of our home. It’s not just a race, but a celebration of every individual's determination to push their limits, be they seasoned athletes or everyday adventurers. The Coast to Coast resonates deeply with our company values: Joy, Courage, and Openness. We’re immensely proud to support an event that embodies these principles. The team behind the event has been exceptional, and we’re excited to continue collaborating with them to make each year better than the last. #CoastToCoast #OutThere

We think our jobs at Kathmandu are hard to beat—but this one might just take the cake. We’re on the hunt for two mates ready to pack their bags for the ultimate overseas adventure. The mission? Create epic content, share their journey with the world, and inspire others to get out there. Tough gig, right? 😉 If this sounds like your dream role (or you know someone who’d nail it), head over to https://bit.ly/42lHucc to apply. But be quick—we reckon this opportunity will be snapped up fast! T&Cs apply, New Zealand Only.

We’re proud to partner with the Graeme Dingle Foundation in supporting New Zealand’s youth to realise their full potential. Together, we’re using the outdoors to help tamariki and rangatahi build self-confidence and self-belief. Congratulations to Sir Graeme Dingle and Jo-anne Wilkinson CNZM LLB, Lady Dingle, for the incredible work you’ve done to make Aotearoa the best place in the world to be young. It was an honour to attend your 30-year celebration last night, and we look forward to many more years of impact!
✨ Today, we celebrate a promise made 30 years ago. On this day in 1994, Sir Graeme Dingle stood on One Tree Hill and made a life-changing promise to New Zealand's young people. Alongside co-founder Jo-anne Wilkinson CNZM LLB, Lady Dingle, they ignited a movement that has since delivered positive youth development programmes to nearly 400,000 tamariki and rangatahi across Aotearoa. From that pivotal day, they set out with an ambitious vision: to make Aotearoa the best place in the world to be young. Three decades later, we celebrate not only the legacy we’ve built but also our steadfast commitment to empowering future generations. Together, we’ve achieved so much, and the journey isn’t over. Let’s continue to empower tamariki and rangatahi to thrive, creating a brighter future for Aotearoa. Stay tuned for the exciting steps ahead as we carry this promise into the next 30 years and beyond! 💚 #DingleFoundation #OneTreeHill #EmpoweringYouth #CharityNZ #30Years

We’re excited to share that Kathmandu has joined forces with Mindful Fashion New Zealand, becoming its newest (and largest!) member. This partnership represents a milestone in our journey to advance an innovative and circular future for the clothing and textile industry in Aotearoa. As a certified B Corporation, we understand that the best way to tackle industry-wide challenges like textile waste and skills development is through collaboration. By teaming up with Mindful Fashion and its network of over 120 forward-thinking New Zealand businesses, we aim to drive progress and create impactful solutions that benefit people, the environment, and the industry as a whole. Together, we’ll work to share knowledge, advocate for change, and explore ways to integrate circular models into our business practices. As Mindful Fashion Chair Juliette Hogan said, "Together, we are greater than the sum of our parts." At Kathmandu, we’re proud to continue leading with purpose and partnering with others to inspire a better future for our industry and our planet. #OutThere #KathmanduOutdoor #MindfulFashionNZ #SustainableInnovation #CircularFashion

Kathmandu wins, again! 🏆 We're thrilled to announce that Kathmandu has been awarded a second 2024 ISPO Award. This time, for our new Women's Seeker Lined 4" Shorts – a revolutionary product that transforms industrial carbon emissions into high-performance activewear. In partnership with LanzaTech, these innovative shorts feature fabric made from captured carbon emissions from steel mills, blended with recycled materials. This technology turns pollution into performance wear, representing a significant step forward in responsible outdoor apparel. The ISPO jury celebrated these shorts as 'an excellent example of how the need to protect the climate creates new opportunities for innovation in the textile industry, where even emissions are converted into new raw materials.' Sustainable fabrics don't mean compromising performance – these versatile shorts feature four-way stretch, anti-odour treatment, and are made for comfort and durability. Available now in stores and online, the Women's Seeker Lined 4" Shorts reinforce our commitment to responsible solutions that reduce our environmental impact while delivering exceptional outdoor gear. Huge congrats to our Product team for this remarkable achievement! 👏 This award recognises their dedication to pushing boundaries in product development while maintaining high-performance standards for any adventure. #KathmanduOutdoor #ISPOAward #SustainableInnovation #OutdoorGear #CarbonCapture

We are so excited to partner with HS+, Highsnobiety's creative studio, to support the launch of our Epiq SE down jacket across Kathmandu's international markets. Juxtaposing rugged New Zealand landscapes with refined urban cityscapes, the campaign speaks to the versatility of the Epiq SE's design; the jacket is made for rising in altitude on a 10-mile hike or pounding ten blocks on the city pavement. "As one of the most innovative entries in Kathmandu’s Epiq catalog, the special edition puffer jacket builds on years of meticulously curated structure and reformational design codes tied to the brand." It's true. Our special edition is crafted with a buttery-soft outer fabric made from recycled plastic waste, including end-of-life car tyres, and a plush 600-fill RDS power duck down that will keep our European and North American friends toasty warm when winter arrives. Megan is preparing to take the ultimate leap - bungee jumping 192 metres off the Auckland Sky Tower! Why? To stand with the young people involved in the Graeme Dingle Foundation, who face and overcome their own challenges every day. For anyone with the means, we invite you to donate in support of Megan. Your donation will go to supporting over 27,000 young people in New Zealand, helping them navigate life’s challenges and grow into strong, confident leaders. Every contribution makes a difference. A new era for Kathmandu. Last week we announced Kathmandu is entering a new era, marked by stronger ties to our New Zealand heritage, the introduction of an all-new product category, and the launch of our evergreen brand campaign: Come Find Us. We’re Out There. Born in Christchurch in 1987, New Zealand is written deep in our DNA, with the New Zealand wilderness first sparking our passion for the outdoors. We will lean more intentionally into our roots from here, actively pursuing a deeper connection to Aotearoa and channelling it through all areas of business. We also announced the launch of our all-new product category: Outdoor Active. Outdoor Active responds to the emerging trend of consumers choosing the outdoors as their training ground and is designed for consumers who value spontaneity and short bursts of outdoor activity within their daily routine, prioritising versatility, adaptability and comfort. And the campaign - Come Find Us. We’re Out There. - is an invitation, to all, to join Kathmandu out there, to experience the transformative power of nature together; it marks an authentic shift toward showcasing the ruggedness and realness of New Zealand’s outdoor landscape, while communicating the happiness humans experience inside when they spend time outside. 👇 watch the film below, captured entirely on Great Barrier Island – 100km off the coast of Auckland, accessible only by tiny plane or slow rolling ferry, and home to approximately 1,000 permanent residents. As our GM Marketing, Jo O'Sullivan, explains: “New Zealand, and all it represents, is the essence of Kathmandu’s story, and we are excited to celebrate our heritage in all we do moving forward. New Zealand’s wilderness continues to inspire us not only to get out there more often, but also to create thoughtfully designed, sustainably made gear to help our community do the same.”
