This month's employee spotlight is on Josh Maxwell! Josh is one of our engineers and is excited to work with you. Hometown: Naples, FL. Hobbies: Fishing, hunting, backpacking, Cub Scouts with my son, basketball with my kids. Favorite Marina Project: It's difficult to pick a favorite project. Pelican Isle Yacht Club (PIYC) in Naples, Florida. Their marina was destroyed by Hurricane Ian, requiring the replacement of their docks, utilities, and seawall. To enhance resiliency to mitigate damage from future storms, we installed longer steel pipe piles, and mounted equipment on floating docks to prevent submersion. For fixed docks, we elevated substations and distribution panels as high as possible without having to build stairs. Since completion, the marina has weathered surges from two additional hurricanes, with no damage to the docks. Bellingham helped coordinate marine and upland contractors to expedite completion while setting a new standard for coastal project resilience. This month's employee spotlight is on Keith Hogan! Keith is our General Manager of Bellingham Marine New Zealand and is excited to work with you. Hometown: Auckland, New Zealand Hobbies: Spending a lot of time on the water boating, either competitive sailing or fishing. Spending time with my family, Love travelling, exploring and learning new things. Enjoy renovating houses. Enjoy socializing with friends. Favorite Marina Project: My biggest project with Bellingham Marine is the construction of the new 220 m long pile and panel sea wall for Tauranga Bridge Marina. This project has had it challenges but the team delivering and project managing this project have been amazing and nothing has fazed them. There have been many stand out projects, delivering solutions for clients is always special. Another special project would be the Queenstown Marina, set on Lake Wakatipu with an incredible view of the Remarkable mountains, 220 single slip berths, curved attenuator, telescopic piles, aluminum pile guides, and corner frames, all serviced by 12 floating buildings. Why You Like Working for Bellingham: There is nothing more satisfying than working alongside a client to bring their dream or vision to reality. There is a huge variety of work at Bellingham’s with no two projects being the same. Project Highlight: 📍Mandurah, Australia Completed in 2021, the beautiful Mandurah Estuary Pool is a floating swimming enclosure designed for the City of Mandurah, Western Australia. This 94-metre-long, 4-metre-wide curved pontoon, featuring a 25-metre internal radius, showcases the adaptability of the Unifloat system. Recognized for its innovative design, the Estuary Pool was honored with an Award of Excellence by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, highlighting its exceptional contribution to the community and its surroundings. #innovation #waterfront #construction #marineconstruction #australia
