Welcome to the latest installment of our special series: Saved by the Belle: Member Stories that Showcase Our Value, and Our Mission. Episode 9: Titanium Lamont (age 69) was struggling with painful deformities and an unsteady gait when Belle arrived in his home. He had recently moved and was without a podiatrist. We helped Lamont find a new in-network provider and get him in for a much-needed appointment. His new podiatrist scheduled a procedure to address his right foot deformities, which were being caused by a piece of titanium from a previous surgery that was pushing up to the surface. A month after his corrective procedure, Lamont reported he had no pain in the foot and that he no longer needed a walker to support movement. We found Lamont at exactly the right time, helping him avoid falls, worsening pain and potentially a long-term lack of mobility. This story is one of a million. A big thank you to the Belle team for this transformative step in our history. Now that we are officially a provider, patient access to our in-home and virtual care services will grow exponentially, empowering us to serve millions of Medicare members demanding our care.
Belle Expands In-Home and Virtual Chronic Care Capabilities, Creating Access for More than 50 Million Polychronic Medicare Members with Ongoing Care Management Needs Belle today announced new clinical resources that will deliver additional value to Medicare Advantage Plans, ACOs and Original Medicare Members with a home-based, foot forward approach to chronic care management. With the upgrades to core capabilities, Belle now provides comprehensive chronic care management services, including annual wellness visits, regular check-ins with clinicians, creation and maintenance of care plans and referrals to care. These investments also allow Belle to function as a provider, enabling additional flexibility in the delivery of its services to Medicare Advantage plans and ACOs. “The feet have proven to be the greatest door opener of all time,” said Armand Lauzon, founder and CEO of Belle. “Between 40-60 percent of targeted members will allow our team into their homes, and then we are able to sustain engagement over time because of the joy our experience creates.” The full release is available at the link below. 👇 #chroniccare #chroniccaremanagement #inhomefootcare #homehealth #cms #medicareadvantage #aco #diabetes #healthcare

Welcome to the latest installment of our special series: Saved by the Belle: Member Stories that Showcase Our Value, and Our Mission. Episode 8: U-Turn Jack is 81, and his health has taken a harsh turn recently. Already managing kidney disease and edema, Jack was diagnosed with dementia. As a Belle Technician engaged with him, he shared that his children just wanted to “throw him in a nursing home.” Meanwhile, his wife admitted she wasn’t sure she could continue caring for him. Belle engaged the care management team from Jack’s health plan and helped him access additional social services. This included a caregiver coming to the home three times a week. This had the dual benefit of helping Jack but also providing regular breaks for his wife. Jack also began receiving meals and a chair lift to address his needs. After settling in to the new caregiver routine, Jack and his wife are doing much better. You could say they are experiencing a U-turn. She reports less stress, and Jack is receiving better care. Without this extra support, Jack’s health would likely have declined further. And given his wife’s caregiver fatigue, he may have had to leave his home and enter a facility. This story is one of a million. As we ring in another year, the Belle team has compiled our predictions for 2025. Here is a quick-hitting list of what’s to come for healthcare in the year ahead. 💡 Uncompensated care will be on the rise, driven by an increase in individuals who are experiencing homelessness, as well as those who have a home but are uninsured. 💡 Medicare Advantage will continue its growth trajectory, but will not reach default status, at least not yet. 💡 Reading the political tea leaves, health equity will be significantly deprioritized at the system level. Plans will need to respond accordingly to keep such efforts alive and well. 💡 Medicare Advantage plans will rebound with innovative ways to offer differentiated benefits. That may include a menu of “member only” a la carte services that will be rationed within a set budget. 💡 The percentage of Medicare members taking GLP-1 medications will continue to grow, but with lots of strings attached. Plans will expect behavioral or programmatic commitments to qualify and stay on the medication. 💡 DOGE efforts will hit hard at the immense cost of Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse. Health care claims submissions will be under increased scrutiny leading to a contraction of health costs favoring health plan margins. This may help to bring back lost payer benefits. 💡 We will see an emerging trend of employers dropping traditional health insurance under the pressure of unmanageable and unsustainable premium increases. Without deregulation and reform, it is just a matter of time before we see the end of employer-sponsored health insurance. 💡 More individuals will choose to go uninsured and opt for concierge medicine and direct primary care models for their care. 💡 There will be tightening price controls on therapeutics. As an example, there will be serious debate on whether to allow pharmaceutical companies to sell drugs at cheaper prices abroad than in the U.S. 💡 Cuts to Medicaid via the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provisions could increase out-of-pocket costs for seniors. Reductions in Medicaid could also limit provider participation and available services, potentially leaving seniors without essential care. This threatens to increase the number of individuals who don’t receive appropriate treatment for chronic conditions. 💡 Resource limitations may impact hospitals' ability to meet HEDIS benchmarks, which could affect quality scores and funding. Meanwhile, protracted financial challenges will likely lead to additional rural hospital closures, reducing care access for seniors and increasing travel burdens. Have more trends to add to the mix? Drop a comment below, and let's discuss! #healthcare #trends #predictions #2025 #innovation #medicareadvantage #CMS #medicaid #homehealth
