You can mark groups and messages as favorites to make them easy to find. Favorite groups and conversations appear in separate lists on the left navigation panel. You can also organize your favorite groups into folders.
When you mark an item as a favorite, it appears as a favorite in your account only. It doesn't appear as a favorite for anyone else.
Mark groups and messages as favorites
- Sign in to Google Groups.
- To mark a group as a favorite, choose an option:
- On the far right of the group entry, click the Star
.
- Click a group
to the left of the group name, click the Star
.
The group is added to your Favorite groups list in the left menu. If you use Groups with more than one domain, the group appears under its domain name on the left.
- On the far right of the group entry, click the Star
- To remove a group from your Favorites list, choose an option:
- On the far right of the group entry, click the Star
.
- Click a group
to the left of the group name, click the Star
.
- In the left panel, click Favorite groups or the domain name. Point to the group name
click More
Unfavorite group.
- On the far right of the group entry, click the Star
- To mark a message as a favorite:
- Click the group containing the message.
- In the left panel, click Conversations
choose an option:
- On the far right of a conversation entry, click the Star
. This marks the most recent message in the conversation as a favorite.
- Click a conversation
on the far right of a message, click the Star
.
The conversation containing the message is added to your Starred conversations list in the left menu.
- On the far right of a conversation entry, click the Star
- To remove a message or conversation as a favorite:
- Click the group containing the message.
- In the left panel, click Conversations
choose an option:
- On the far right of a conversation entry, click the Star
. This removes all messages in the conversation as favorites and removes the conversation from the Starred conversations list.
- Click a conversation
on the far right of a message, click the Star
. This removes the conversation from the Starred conversations list unless the conversation contains other messages marked as favorites.
- On the far right of a conversation entry, click the Star
Organize favorite groups into folders
After you mark a group as a favorite, you can assign it to a folder.
- Sign in to Google Groups.
- To create a folder:
- In the left panel, point to Favorite groups
click More
Create folder.
- Enter a folder name
click Create.
- In the left panel, point to Favorite groups
- To assign a favorite group to a folder: In the left panel, point to the group name
click More
the folder name.
You can switch a favorite group from one folder to a different one.
You can only assign a group to one folder. However, if you assigned a group to multiple folders in the old Groups interface, the group appears in all of those folders in the new interface. - To remove a favorite group from a folder: In the left panel, point to the group name
click More
the folder name to which the group currently belongs.
The group is removed from this folder but stays in your Favorite groups list. - To delete a folder: In the left panel, point to the folder
click More
Delete folder
When you delete a folder, any groups in that folder are removed from Favorite groups.
