A Time to Kill is the best novel I have read in quite a long while. Some fairly good ones have had good prose but the story was somewhat lacking. Others had good story lines, but the prose was not so good. A Time to Kill is good in both aspects. And in addition, there is, especially in one chapter, dialog that caused me to laugh reading a book more than I have in a very long time.

He's a great writer of "thrillers" and they are easy to read and they keep you on your "toes", so to speak, to the very end. That's why they seem to be long and drawn out sometimes, but he just wants to captivate your attention in each Chapter to the very end of the Novel!

I was recommended this book by a friend. I have always loved reading Grisham's books, but for some reason, never picked this one up. As it began, I was horrifyed reading the events taking place. I automatically sided with the main characters of Carl and Jake. I fell into the plot easily and the emotions of the book seemed to seep off the pages. As I reached the climax of the book, I was literally on the edge of my seat! Since then, John Grisham has been one of my favorite authors. And this book remains as one of my favorite books of all time. A must read for everyone!!!
