Reverse: 1999 is a 20th Century Time-Travel Strategic RPG developed by Bluepoch.

On the last day of 1999, the "Storm" fell upon the world. You witnessed an era reversed beneath the rising raindrops. Defying all reasons, what unfolds in front of you is the world of an era long past.

As the Timekeeper, observer of eras, you are free to travel through these eras after each "Storm." With the aid of Sonetto, a powerful Arcanist and ally from the Foundation, your mission is to travel through eras to where the "Storm" is most active, find other Arcanists who can sense the coming "Storm," and save them from being "sifted out" of the timeline.

I absolutely ADORE this game, and so do others, but nobody ever talks about how horrifying it is. I mean, the ENTIRE world is stuck in a loop, and only a group of people can withstand and research said loop. Not only that, but one mistake can trigger the loop (as seen in E Lucevan Le Stelle). Not to mention that the game's catchphrase is "The 'Storm' is Coming" sends chills down my spine. I wouldn't really consider time travel games horror, but this one would fit the genre perfectly!

I really wanted to love this game. It's very unique and the voice acting is phenomenal. The setting and character design is among my favorite for gatcha games. Unfortunately, the combat system is simple and lackluster, quickly becoming bland. This would be fine if it was carried along by exceptional storytelling, which it almost was, but it remains frustratingly cryptic and I've simply lost patience with it.

Great game, fun combat, nice artwork, and a good variety of play modes to keep things interesting. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars is a severe lack of resources for summoning and character building. Edit: they added another system to upgrade characters that requires even more resources when they're already scarce, minus another star for that
