The World Circular Economy Forum 2025 will take over São Paulo, Brazil from 13 to 16 May, gathering pioneers of the circular economy to the tropics to share their visions and solutions. 💛 WCEF2025 will delve into the advantages of circular solutions and facilitate targeted discussions around business, governance, finance, innovation, people and education – the key enablers that drive the circular transition. Let's talk more about incentives! 💬 During #WCEF2024, we had the opportunity to speak with some of our speakers to gather their thoughts on what is crucial as we drive the circular transition forward. Slendy Díaz, a circular economy expert with experience in project management, the energy sector and circular business models across both public and private sectors, emphasised the importance of discussing incentives. Unfortunately, current market conditions still don't treat circular business models fairly, making it challenging for them to succeed. Slendy highlighted the need to discuss how we can alter these conditions through incentives that help make circular models more competitive and affordable. Her message to the WCEF audience was simple and motivating: have faith, trust the process, and remain resilient as we work towards a more circular future. 🙌 Thank you for sharing your insights with us, Slendy Díaz! 💚 As we shift our focus to #WCEF2025, we look forward to more engaging conversations! Can we all just agree: the circular way is the best way of making things? At WCEF2024, we delved into the world of circular manufacturing from various perspectives, including electronics, consumer behavior, and China as the largest manufacturer. Here are some insights gathered from these sessions: ✔️ Measuring circularity across the electronics value chain We examined the extent of the deepening e-waste crisis using the latest findings from the Global E-Waste Monitor. We also explored the circular opportunities that can mitigate and reverse its impacts. The session discussed how organisations can establish robust performance management systems for circularity and enhance accountability to accelerate industry transformation. ✔️ Unveiling China's circular transformation China, being the world's largest manufacturer and a significant consumer market, has a profound impact on circular development. In this session, we learned about how Chinese businesses are incorporating sustainable and circular technology and product solutions, as well as innovative business models, to advance a green, low-carbon, and circular transformation. ✔️ Behavioral insights empowering sustainable consumption A safe and just transition to a circular economy can only be achieved by understanding and engaging people from all walks of life. Collaboration drives the circular transition. 🙌 During the World Circular Economy Forum 2024, we had the opportunity to engage with some of the speakers and learn about the positive developments they have witnessed in their work. Mayri Tiido, an experienced adult educator and circular economy entrepreneur from Estonia, highlighted the emergence of local circular economy organizations as a promising trend. These umbrella organizations bring together various stakeholders who rely on each other to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy. In a similar vein, Mayri encourages change-makers to seek out platforms where they can share their experiences and be inspired by like-minded individuals. This collaborative approach is vital in overcoming the challenges we face.
